Sponsorship Distribution in Doure

Part of what Sheltering Wings does in Burkina Faso is sponsor both school aged children and widows in villages surrounding Yako. On Monday we ventured to the village of Doure about 15 km away from Yako; where we did the medical outreach just a week before.
At the distribution we gave out grain and soap to the children and widows in the village. The children wrote a thank you letter to their family that sponsors them and then we took their picture. There was also a little gathering at the church. We sang songs, prayed and the people of Doure thanked us for the gifts.
It was a short visit but it wasn't short of the blessings and memories.

The first picture is of some of the kids that are sponsored in the village of Doure. They are standing next to the large bag of grain that was given to them. Over 200lbs!
In the second picture two girls writing their thank you letters to the family that sponsors them. The boys in the back are helping them with their French. French is the children's second language, so they need a little help from the older kids.
These are the lovely widows of Doure. They are so precious and some of the most thankful people I have ever met.
